Ayala Land Hotels Continues Expansion in the Philippines

Ayala Land Hotels and Resorts Corp. is pushing forward with plans of increasing the number of keys in its homegrown Seda-branded hotels, spurred on by the surge in domestic tourism in the Philippines and rising number of international arrivals. The so-called ‘revenge travel’ and the Department of Tourism’s projected 4.8 million international arrivals goal signals to them that the global recovery for their industry is here. Ayala has reopened their El Nido and Sicogon resorts, are adding rooms in Seda Nuvali and are opening the new 532-room Seda Manila Bay this year. The first 92 rooms at the new wing of Seda Nuvali in Santa Rosa, Laguna were opened last year. The new wing also features a ballroom, gym, meeting/function rooms, and a swimming pool. The new Seda Manila Bay will sit on top of AyalaMalls Manila Bay at the Aseana City in Paranaque. Their total hotels and resorts portfolio now stands at 4,058 rooms with another 1,504 rooms under construction. Ayala will be allocating P85 billion in capital expenditures this year, up 17% from 2022. That is still -53% less than the company’s pre-pandemic capex of P130 billion in 2019.

Suba Group of Hotels marked another milestone in India’s Tech City – Bengaluru with the launch of Click Hotel Ayra in Seshadripuram, Bengaluru. The new Click Hotels by Suba – a Smart Street Affordable Luxury Hotel of Click Hotel, is described as an elegant budget, full-service business hotel designed to cater to the new age business traveler. The hotel features 39 contemporary rooms and suites, two meeting venues, one boardroom and a multi-cuisine restaurant, Cinnamon. This is Suba’s third Click hotel and sixth hotel overall in Bengaluru.

The Novotel Jodhpur ITI Circle marks the twnty-third Novotel property opening in India. It will be the first hotel in South Asia to be built with the new Sundkovy Sisters design, part of the brand’s broader design philosophy. The Novotel Jodhpur ITI Circle offers 93 rooms and suites and features two premier suites, five junior suites, five executive rooms with balconies and 81 superior rooms offering views of Mehrangarh Fort & Green Belt. The hotel is only 4 km away from Jodhpur Railway Station and 7 km from Jodhpur Airport. The hotel includes a spa and steam facility, rooftop swimming pool and a gym. Food wise, the hotel is a pure vegetarian hotel and includes Novotel’s signature restaurant brand Food Exchange. There also is the Gourmet Bar and 21 Street Walk Café. The hotel also offers 14,000 square feet of event and meeting space.

Indian Hotels Company announced they signed a Vivanta-branded hotel in New GurugramHaryana. The brownfield project will be part of a mixed-use development. The 160-key hotel is situated in Sector 95A, New Gurugram. The hotel will have Mynt, Vivanta’s signature all-day diner, a bar and recreational facilities including a swimming pool and fitness center. There will be over 650 square meters of meeting space featuring a large ballroom and meeting rooms. With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 16 hotels across Taj, Vivanta, SeleQtions and Ginger brands across National Capital Region including four under development.

WelcomHeritage is expanding its footprint in South India with the opening of its latest luxury resort, WelcomHeritage Ayatana in the destination of Ooty. This is their second property in the hill station of Ooty. The resort offers Standard Villas, Deluxe Garden Cottages, Deluxe Garden Pool Villas and the Presidential Suites. The bar overlooks the sublime greenery and the property also offers a spa, infinity swimming pool, outdoor and indoor games and fireplace.

CBRE said they brokered the deal to sell the Freedom Hostel Cairns. They brokered the transaction on behalf of Melbourne-based vendors Shield Abbott Pty Ltd, part of the Jreissati Group which owns Benson Property Group and the renowned Levantine Hill Winery. The Australian property has been rebranded as The Village Cairns. The 1,945 square meter site is situated in the center of Cairns and incorporates a three-level, mixed-use accommodation and retail complex, including the recently refurbished 200-bed Freedom Hostel and nine retain tenancies in an arcade-style configuration. 

Perth Airport confirmed they are seeking a partner to operate a 250-room hotel they will build next to the new Airport Central train station. The hotel has been part of the airport masterplan for many years and will be walking distance from the terminals at the Australian airport. The new hotel will be located next to Metronet’s Airport Central Station and will include around 250 rooms and suites. CBRE is helping the airport find an operator for the hotel.

Small Luxury Hotels of the World said they are investing in their presence in the Australian and New Zealand markets as integral parts of the brand’s strategic direction and expansion plans post-pandemic. SLH sees an opportunity to expand its footprint further by investing in on-the-ground resources and locally designed strategic partnership. Their new lineup of hotels within its ANZ portfolio includes Chalets at BlackheathIslington Hotel, and The Carlin Hotel. The brand reopened their Australian office in Sydney in 2022 to accommodate a team of local sales and reservations representatives.

Minor International announced they intend to acquire more NH Hotel Group shares on the Madrid Stock Exchange for a period of 30 days. Minor already owns 94.132% of NH’s outstanding shares and said they will buy more at a price not exceeding 4.50 euros per shares.
