The Ascott Limited Unveils The Crest Collection in Asia

STR reported China hotel data for the week ending October 14. China hotel RevPAR was up 73.4% year over year for the week, up against an easy negative -35.5% comp from 2022. When compared with the same week in 2019China hotel RevPAR was down -18.3%.

The Ascott Limited has debuted The Crest Collection brand in Asia with the opening of three properties in SingaporeIndonesia and Malaysia between August and October. The Crest Collection is a portfolio of bespoke hotels and serviced residences that integrate heritage stories with curated hospitality experiences. The Robertson House by The Crest Collection in Singaporewas the latest to be unveiled, on October 14th, following seven months of refurbishment. The George Penang by The Crest Collection in Penang, Malaysia opened after its rebranding this month while The Grand Mansion Menteng by The Crest Collection opened in Jakarta, Indonesia in August. The Crest Collection in Europe currently has four properties in France with others slated to open under the brand in London, Bucharest, Hanoi, Tokyo and another property in ParisCapitaLand Ascott Trust said The Robertson House by the Crest Collection in Singapore and La Clef Tour Eiffel Paris by The Crest Collection are two of six properties in their current asset enhancement initiative pipeline.

Royal Orchid & Regenta Hotels announced the opening of its fourth property in Mysuru, introducing Regenta Central Javaji, Mysore. The new addition joins the three existing properties – Royal Orchid Brindavan GardenRoyal Orchid Metropole, and Regenta Central Herald, all located in the city of Mysore. The new Regenta Central Javaji enjoys a strategic location, near the city’s prominent attractions. The contemporary property features 48 well-appointed rooms, including deluxe rooms, superior rooms, executive rooms and exquisite suites. Amenities offered include a 24/7 fitness center, a rejuvenating salon and spa, luxurious swimming pool, and a well-equipped, best in class banquet hall. Royal Orchid & Regenta Hotels has a quest to expand into major tourist destinations across India.

NOESIS Capital Advisors announced the successful facilitation of a transaction, the sale of a prestigious 4-star hotel in Vadodara, Gujarat in India. The hotel features 96 opulent rooms and a 15,000 square foot meeting and banqueting facility, poised to redefine luxury hospitality in the heart of Vadodara. These are just some of the premium amenities offered by the hotel for its guests. The hotel is located 100 meters from Vadodara Railway Station and the upcoming bullet train station. The seller of the property is the Iscon Group. This was Iscon Group’s second foray into the hospitality industry. The buyer of the hotel is an institutional entity backed by a Japanese fund.

Lemon Tree Hotels signed a franchise agreement for an upcoming hotel in Vadodara, Gujarat. The hotel will be under their Keys Select by Lemon Tree Hotels brand and is expected to be operational in fiscal year 2026. Keys Select by Lemon Tree Hotels, Vadodara will feature 45 well-appointed rooms, a restaurant, a banquet hall, a meeting room, fitness center, lounge along with other public areas. The Vadodara airport is about 10 kilometers from the property. The hotel is connected by both public and private transport from all major cities in IndiaLemon Tree Hotels is India’s largest hotel chain in the mid-priced hotel sector and the third largest overall on the basis of controlling interest in owned and leased rooms.

Kenilworth Hotel is planning to develop a hotel, covering over five acres of land parcel, at Vilankurichi in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu in India. The proposed property will comprise a building with seven floors with rooms, along with two banquet restaurants, gym, bar, business center, meeting room, executive offices, and a banquet lawn kitchen. Work on the project is expected to begin in Q3/FY24 with completion expected in December 2025.

Bong Sen Corp, a company associated with the disgraced Van Thinh Phat in Vietnam, plans to sell its stake in Hanoi Daewoo Hotel to repay maturing bonds. Bong Sen Corp plans to sell over 63.4 million shares in Daeha, the company that operates the hotel, as part of plans to liquidate assets to redeem bonds worth VND4.8 trillion it issued in October 2021. The company also needs to pay interest of VND670 billion on them. Bong Sen acquired 51% of the company in 2015 but it is unclear as to what stake the 63.4 million shares represents in DaehaDaewoo Hanoi was one of the first five star hotels in the capital, opening in 1996. Bong Sen also plans to sell stakes in other hotels and property projects in Ho Chi Minh City but is waiting for the police to complete their investigation into it. It is one of the 762 businesses associated with Van Thinh Pat, whose leaders have been arrested for alleged fraud. Bong Sen’s assets have been frozen for the investigation. It owns prime land lots in HCMC where it also operates hotels and restaurants.

BWHSM Hotels, the company that owns WorldHotels, Best Western Hotels and Resorts and SureStay Hotels brands, announced its continued expansion in Thailand with the launch of Best Western Click Sathorn 11, Bangkok. The hotel is nestled in a quiet residential street, moments from the skyscrapers of Sathorn Road, suited for both business and leisure travelers alike. The modern midscale hotel features 119 contemporary rooms. It has a fashionable onsite restaurant, an outdoor pool, all located near a local area which includes Asiatique The Riverfront, a choice of Thai and international restaurants, Saint Louis Hospital and the Mahanakhon SkyWalkBWH Hotels now offers 11 properties in Bangkok, covering six of its brands, making BWH Hotels ones of the Thai capital’s leading international hotel operators.

Pride Hotels Group announced the appointment of Chandrashekhar Belose as its Corporate Chief Engineer. Belose has extensive experience from his previous associations with entities such as Novotel Hotels, Hilton Hotels Mumbai, Ibis Hotels, Inox Cinema an Sun N Sand Hotels Mumbai. His most recent role was Chief Engineer at Novotel Juha Mumbai. One of his key responsibilities in his new role at Pride Hotels Group will be to lead sustainability measures across the portfolio. Pride Hotels Group has 56 locations across India, offering a total of 5,390 hotel rooms, 109 restaurants, 152 banquet facilities, lawns and conference halls. The group operates and manages a range of hotels under various brands.
