Hyatt Unveils Tokyo's Toranomon Hills

STR said for the week ended December 2nd, hotel RevPAR in China was up 55.6% year over year. It was up against a decline of -2.6% in the previous year. When compared to the same week in 2019, hotel RevPAR in China was down -7.4%.

Marriott International will be launching the Courtyard Hotel in Murdoch in Perth’s Southern region in two months. The Courtyard by Marriott Perth, Murdoch is a new-build nestled in the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct, a 10 minute drive from Perth’s Central Business District. The hotel includes 150 rooms with room sizes spanning from 28 to 58 square meters. The Dampiera Library within the hotel premises offers a 56 square meter meeting room that can accommodate up to 18 seated delegates. The room comes with addition pre-function space and a balcony. The hotel will include the Substance Restaurant and Bar, an Asian bistro and café, as well as a fitness center. This will be the first Courtyard by Marriott in PerthMarriott International has two other properties in Perth, the Ritz-Carlton Perth and The Westin Perth.

Cebu-based AppleOne Group has begun the construction of the JW Marriott Panglao Island Resort & Residences in PanglaoBohol. This will be the first Marriott-branded development on the Philippines island. The completion is not expected until 2027 and is expected to cement Bohol’s status as a premier tourism destination in the country. Bohol has been declared the country’s first every Unesco Global Geopark. The JW Marriott property will be situated in a seven hectare beachfront property in Bohol, offering unobstructed views of Maribojoc Bay, surrounded by lush parkland. The resort will have 80 guest rooms with proposed hotel plans including a pool, fitness center with state of the art equipment, Spa by JW Marriott, JW Garden and a range of on-site food and beverage options. The upscale residences will include 70 private homes with room sizes ranging from one-bedroom to two-bedroom and villas. It will have exclusive residents-only amenities including a pool, lounge, Kid’s Club, a library, yoga pavilion, music room, rock-climbing gym and outdoor recreation. The Panglao resort will be AppleOne’s third property managed by Marriott.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the opening of Hotel Toranomon Hills as the first property in Tokyo under The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand. Situated in the heart of Tokyo, the hotel is located within the new Toranomon Hills Station Tower in Toranomon Hills, the integrated development and global business hub by Mori Building Co., Ltd. Toranomon Hills is home to TokyoNode, which includes a presentation/performance hall, art galleries and other facilities on the top floors and a commercial facility with about 70 stores and restaurants on the lower floors. Hotel Toranomon Hills offers 205 stylish rooms and suites. The 30 suites come with a Japanese-style hot tub. There are two Toranomon Suites duplexes, each measuring 1,722 square feet, which can be used for intimate meetings and private events as well as overnight stays. The hotel includes The Lounge, offering flexible spaces for in person meetings, online business and co-working. Le Pristine Tokyo is the casual fine dining restaurant on the street level. The restaurant is part of a collaboration between Hyatt and the Sergio Herman Group. Sergio Hermanwill oversee all food and beverage offerings at the hotel including breakfast.

Dusit Thani Public Company Limited announced the topping off of the newly built structure at Dusit Thani Bangkok. The new property is on the same plot as the original. The reimagined Dusit Thani Bangkok is scheduled to open in the second half of 2024 as part of Dusit Central Park, a US$$1.37 billion mixed-use development opposite Lumpini Park in the heart of the Thaicapital. The project will also comprise ultra-luxury residences (Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside), a state of the art office tower, a high end retail center, and an 11,200 square meter Roof Park. These components are expected to open gradually in 2025 and 2026. The hotel will comprise 257 guestrooms, one of the largest ballrooms in Bangkok and a wide range of innovative dining, wellness, and meeting facilities. The new Dusit Thani Bangkok will integrate signature elements from the original property that were thoughtfully removed and preserved for use as part of the new building, including the original property’s signature golden spire.

Brigade Hotel Ventures Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Brigade Enterprises Ltd., announced the signing of the first ibis Styles in Mysuru, the cultural capital of Karnataka in India. The ibis Styles is scheduled to open in Q3 of fiscal 2024-2025 and will offer 130 rooms. The food and beverage offerings at the property will be designed to cater to diverse tastes, featuring an all-day dining restaurant, specialty rooftop restaurant and a relaxing lounge bar. The hotel will also offer other amenities including a 450 square meter banquet space, fitness center and a swimming pool. This will be Brigade Group’s second hotel in Mysuru with Accor, the first being Grand Mercure Mysuru.

The Fiji National Provident Fund is in the process of acquiring the Natadola Beach Villa and Garden City properties. The total acquisition cost of the two properties is $59.3 million. The Fund is awaiting completion of the settlement and title transfer. The settlement on the Garden City property is expected by next week. Fiji National Provident Fund also said the Westin Resort refurbishment guest room block renovations are on track with Fletcher Construction as the main contractor for the guest rooms and roofing. Central facilities interior design phase is nearly complete and consultants are finalizing drawings for tendering. The revised Westin refurbishment is expected to take 18 to 24 months, targeting completion in the third quarter of 2024.

Ananti, Inc. will end its six year relationship with Hilton by taking the name off its luxury seaside hotel in BusanSouth Korea and begin operating it independently starting next year. The Ananti Hilton Busan will be renamed Ananti At Busan Cove, starting in January 2024.

Elite Havens, a premier luxury villa rental company, has expanded its selection of more than 300 private luxury villas and chalets across Asian locations by introducing 32 new properties in GoaIndia. The new properties were signed in collaboration with India’s luxury vacation home rental company, Lohono Stays by Isprava. The new properties feature a pool and expansive living spaces.
