Marriott Debuts Moxy in India

Marriott International had the pleasure of debuting their Moxy Hotels brand in India while also expanding their JW Marriott brand to the city of Surat, Gujarat.

The Mercure Living Putrajaya was inaugurated with the signing of a plaque and a ribbon-cutting ceremony during the grand opening on January 10th. Mercure Living Putrajaya in Malaysia is Accor’s first Mercure Living concept in Asia. They partnered with owner Ulster Waves Sdn. Bhd, a subsidiary of iKHASAS Sdn Bhd, with the fully furnished serviced apartment concept positioned in Putrajaya’s tallest building. Mercure Living Putrajaya offers 299 modern designed serviced apartments spanning 36 floors. The property includes a 52 meter saltwater infinity pool, a 24/7 gym, Urban Bliss Wellness Center Spa, a badminton court and a stylish lounge for guests and residents to unwind.

Cross Hotels & Resorts said they expanded their footprint in Indonesia through a strategic alliance with PT Sunset Studio One, a unit of the BIP Group. The partnership leads the entry of the Cross Vibe brand into IndonesiaCross Vibe Paasha Atelier Bali will be the first hotel under the brand. The 175 key hotel is strategically situated in Kuta, in proximity to Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport and Kuta Beach. Accommodations include Superior, Superior Pool View, Duplex, Junior Suite, Deluxe Pool and Deluxe Pool Suites. Amenities include international dining, swimming pool, spa and a gym.

Movenpick Hotel Hanoi Centre announced its grand reopening this month following a renovation. All 155 rooms and suits have been renovated. The property includes four restaurants and bars, Kinetic Gym & Wellness Studio and the newly introduced Cabana Club Pool, providing a Miami-inspired oasis for guests. The hotel is situated within the French Quarter in Vietnam.

Cebu Landmasters Inc. announced the launch of lyf Cebu City, its third operational hotel. The property is located within CLI’s Base Line Center, a mixed-use property in mid-town Cebu. The lyf Cebu City property offers 159 rooms in a variety of configurations including studio and two to four bedroom units. This addition to CLI’s portfolio signifies the first lyf-branded property in the Visayas and Mindanao region and the second in the Philippines. For CLI, this joins The Pad Co-Living and Citadines Cebu City properties. CLI now oversees 10 projects under its hospitality portfolio, comprising over 1,700 keys and 316 rooms currently in operation. The company’s expansion plans include the launch of Citadines Bacolod City and Radisson Red hotels.

Red Planet Hotels announced it soft-launched its 14th property in the Philippines and 19th globally on December 18, 2023. The latest addition is the Red Planet Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Philippines. The hotel is located near 9th avenue, putting guests at the heart of BGC’svibrant lifestyle.

Marriott International had the pleasure of debuting their Moxy Hotels brand in India while also expanding their JW Marriott brand to the city of Surat, Gujarat. The Moxy Bengaluru Airport Prestige Tech Club is the 17th brand in the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio in South Asia. It is located just 10 minutes from Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru. Marriott partnered with owner Prestige Group on this new hotel. It offers 128 guest rooms, including six suites, along with facilities such as a 24/7 fitness center, 25 meter outdoor swimming pool and amenities like a car park and airport shuttle service. The hotel also features three meeting and event rooms, a pre-function area and a 1,000 square meter outdoor event space. Marriott said they are also planning to open Moxy Mumbai in Andheri West with 106 rooms in March of this year. By early 2025 they plan to open Moxy Chennai OMR with 125 rooms and Moxy Bengaluru Sarjapur with 200 rooms. As for the new JW MarriottGujarat JHM Hotels, in collaboration with Auro Hotels, signed an exclusive hotel management agreement with Marriott to introduce the JW Marriott Surat Resort & Spa is GJHM’s third Marriott International hotel in Surat and is expected to feature over 300 guestrooms and villas, four food and beverage outlets, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, spa with a salon and a Kids’ Club.

ITC Hotels Group’s Fortune Hotels unit said they reached the 50 hotel mark with the opening of a 70 room mid-scale hotel, Fortune Park East Delhi in Vivek Vihar, close to Yamuna sports complex and Guru Gobind IP University, East Delhi campus. The hotel has 25 deluxe rooms, 30 premium rooms, 10 fortune club rooms and 5 suites. The hotel includes a multi-cuisine all day diner, full-fledged bar, and a café and lounge. The hotel will also have a sky-dining facility soon in ‘Nakshatra’ as well as a gym and spa in the pipeline. The hotel carved out two banqueting areas on the ground and second floor, both under 4,000 square feet, to cater to events of 100 to 200 pax size in different configurations.

Club Med announced the opening of its latest resort, the Club Med Kiroro Grand, located in Hokkaido, Japan on December 1, 2023. The premium resort is located in northern JapanClub Med Kiroro Grand offers 266 rooms, all designed with an alpine style inspired by the natural world. The resort features access to 23 courses across the Asari and Nagamine mountains. This resort features the brand’s first ever traditional Japanese onsen, a hot spring which is part of the resort’s wellness offerings. Also available is the resort’s full-service spa. The two dining concepts are The Ogon, a hot pot restaurant, and Yoichi, which offers an array of international foods. Travelers can also enjoy sushi at The Ebisu and yakiniku grilling at The Kaen.

HOP INN Hotel, a budget hotel operator in Thailand and the Philippines, has officially launched its first four hotels in prime tourist destinations in Japan. The 58 strong budget hotel fleet owned by Erawan Hop Inn Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of The Erawan Group PCL, opened its first ever Hop Inn hotel in Kyoto in December, followed by the January launch of two hotels in Tokyoand one to open in Ueno, Tokyo in early April. This is part of the company’s strategic investment plan of 10 billion baht to expand in Asia Pacific with a mission overall to achieve over 150 hotels and 14,000 keys operating across the region with four times expected revenue growth by 2030. The 136 room Hop Inn Kyoto Shijo Omiya opened in December including interiors inspired by Japan’s rich culture, traditional tatami rooms, and a public bath or sento. The 50 room Hop Inn Tokyo Iidabashi is located steps away from the Tokyo DomeHop Inn Tokyo Asakusa offers 115 rooms and is strategically located right next to the Senso-ji Temple. In early April the Hop Inn Tokyo Ueno will open just 1590 meters from Ueno station.
