Radisson to Open About 15 Hotels in India This Year

Radisson Hotel Group plans to open a new hotel in India every 20 days, aiming for widespread presence including religious destinations, with 180 hotels and 13,700 rooms in operation and in the pipeline.

IHG Hotels & Resorts announced a new partnership with SM Group to develop the first voco hotel in Fujian province in China – voco Xiamen SM city. The hotel is scheduled to open in the second half of 2025, nestled within the core area of Xiamen at SM Xiamen complex. The voco Xiamen SM city will have over 300 rooms and a wide range of amenities, including a full-service restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, versatile event spaces, an indoor heated swimming pool and a fitness center. For IHG, the voco brand, founded in 2018 has had 64 openings across 25 countries and regions and has 80 hotels in the pipeline.

Marriott Hotels announced the opening of Navi Mumbai Marriott Hotel, in partnership with owner MRG Group. The hotel has a prime location in the heart of Navi Mumbai on the west coast of MaharashtraIndia on Thane Belapur Road, 26km away from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and only 12km from the upcoming DB Patil International Airport. The hotel offers 152 rooms, including 45 Club Rooms featuring panoramic city or hill views and a Presidential Suite spanning 140 square meters. There are two restaurants including rooftop restaurant Nazaara. The Greatroom is a brand signature of Marriott Hotels, a space for guests to relax and reconnect. On the 10th floor is the 24/7 M Club, an exclusive lounge available to Elite Marriott Bonvoy Members and guests staying on executive floors. For MICE, they offer 715 square meters of event and meeting spaces. The Patio Deck is an open area while the pillarless Panorama Grand Ballroom spans 325 square meters and can be divided into two venues. Smaller meetings and gatherings can be in the Prive meeting room. Finally, there is the Quan Spa with three treatment rooms and a couple's suite as well as the Fitness Center and exclusive rooftop pool. MRG Group is located in Bengaluru.

Radisson Hotel Group is the second biggest international chain in India by hotel network and room inventory. They plan to open a new hotel every 20 days in the country this year. Their goals is to have a hotel every two hours of driving distance in India as well as building their presence in religious destinations. They will launch the first globally branded hotels in markets such as VrindavanUjjain and Guruvayur. Last month they opened the 212 room Radisson Collection hotel in Srinagar, the largest hotel in the Jammu and Kashmir region. Radisson Hotel Group has 180 hotels in operation and in the pipeline in over 70 locations in India, with 13,700 operational rooms.

Las Vegas Sands said their plans for Singapore include expansion of its current casino space at Marina Bay Sands. LVS is planning another development there to complement its casino resort, including more space for live entertainment. It will have fewer rooms than the existing MBS resort but will have a casino, restaurants and an arena. More details will be divulged later this year.

Choice Hotels Asia Pacific announced the newest addition to its flagship Comfort brand: Comfort Inn Shearing Shed, located in the NSW city of Dubbo. The hotel features 23 rooms, ranging from Twins/Queens to Deluxe King and Family Suites. The hotel is situated in the heart of Macquarie Valley on the banks of the Macquarie River. The hotel is owned by Gary Gordon, formerly a Choice franchisee at Comfort Hotel Greensborough in Victoria.

A $130 million luxury hotel in AdelaideAustralia on Halifax Street has had some changes with new plans including an extra swimming pool. The 14-story hotel, restaurant and bar is owned by the Samaras Group and is managed by Crystalbrook Collection. It is expected to open in 2026 with more than 200 rooms. The new plans add a level, remove the carpark, add an extra swimming pool on the second level and adds 25 hotel rooms, bringing the total to 227. The hotel will now be 14 storeys with the top level housing the rooftop Eleme Spa and Bath House, including an east-facing terrace. It increases the building height by nearly 4 meters to 53 meters. Outdoor dining will be removed to the restaurant on level 12 and enclosed to form part of the public indoor restaurant. The hotel will be built on a Wilson carpark site just east of King William Street.

Pan Pacific Jakarta plans to open on June 1, 2024, as the tallest luxury hotel in Jakarta. The hotel is located in Thamrin Nine's Luminary Tower and has 158 rooms spread across floors 71 to 90 with the exclusive Japanese restaurant, Keyaki, and rooftop bar offering guests an elevated experience in the heart of the city. The lobby includes a chandelier centerpiece. The hotel offers a range of facilities designed to provide guests with a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The 71st floor has an indoor pool while fitness enthusiasts can take advantage of the gym and can relax in the steam room. The top floor has the Pacific Club Lounge overlooking the Jakarta skyline, offering all-day dining. The 90 floor has the Keyaki Japanese Restaurant and is the tallest restaurant in Jakarta. The Eden oo Carbon Bar is a botanical destination bar with an outdoor garden terrace.

QHHRREIT has successfully completed its conversion from a property fund to a real estate investment trust and acquired new assets including the Centre Point Hotel and Residences Silom in Thailand. They also announced the conversion from the Quality House Hotel and Residence Freehold and Leasehold Property Fund to the Quality House Hotel and Residence Freehold and Leasehold Real Estate Investment Trust has been completed. The Trust plans to invest further in high-potential assets such as the 214-room Centre Point Hotel and Residence Silom immediately after the conversion in Q2 2024. The additional investments will be funded entirely by borrowing.

The People's Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province in southern Vietnam ha allowed the developer of a beachside aquarium complex to continue work on land reclamation and breakwater construction after several years of suspension but a 23 story hotel that was part of the project was put on hold. Vung Tau Cable Car Tourism JSV can continue work but not on the hotel subcomponent. The hotel part was originally halted in March 2020.
