Marina Bay Sands Completes Latest Phase of Reinvestment Plan

Marina Bay Sands in Singapore launched a new brand vision, "Above Beyond," as part of a $1.75 billion transformation to elevate its hospitality, including revamped suites, expanded butler services, and upgraded facilities across its three hotel towers.

STR reported China hotel data for the week ended November 2. Chinese hotel RevPAR was down -3% year over year. It was up against a medium-strong comp of +57.6% a year ago. Occupancy for the week was up 2.3%, while ADR was down -5.2%.

Marriott International will make its return to Cebu City in the Philippines through a partnership with Cebu’s own BE Group of Companies. The contract was signed on October 28th for the opening of a 200-room AC Hotels by Marriott in BE Group’s upcoming integrated project, BE Uptown Park on Juana Osmena St. Cebu City. This will be the first AC Hotels branded property in the Visayas and Mindanao and marks BE Group’s first collaboration with an international hotel brand. BE Group said they envision the AC Hotel as a central feature of BE Uptown Park, complementing its 25-story residential and commercial spaces. The hotel’s groundbreaking is slated for 2025, with an anticipated completion by 2030. Marriott currently operates 10 hotels across ManilaClark, Cebu and Palawan.

TUTA Group signed a cooperation agreement with Marriott International, officially bringing the world’s largest hotel brand to Bac Giang in Vietnam. Marriott will take over and manage the operation of the 5-star hotel at the Royal Mansion project, which is expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2028. Royal Mansion is located at the central intersection of Bac Giang. The project includes an international 5-star hotel, an office tower, four luxury apartment buildings and 171 commercial villas. The hotel will include modern facilities such as a 2,000-seat conference center, a large-scale commercial center and a health care system.

Las Vegas Sands‘ Marina Bay Sands in Singapore unveiled a new brand vision and campaign, marking a significant milestone in its US$1.75 billion reinvestment program. They have completed the renovations of the exclusive Paiza Collection across all three hotel towers. The Paiza Collection comprises mostly suites and is served by Singapore’s largest butler team. It forms a key part of Marina Bay Sands’ multi-year transformation towards brand and service elevation. The new brand vision is called ‘Above Beyond’ and includes Marina Bay Sands’ ambition to surpass expectations and set new benchmarks in hospitality. The transformation of the property began in 2022 and has been undertaken in phases, starting with new hotel rooms and suites across its three towers, premium dining experiences and lifestyle amenities. The transformation will also include the Sands SkyPark, lobby and wellness facilities. The Paiza Collection is on the top floors and includes the Chairman, Presidential, Skyline and Horizon Suites. To date, approximately 1,540 new rooms, including 635 suites, have been completed and all the rooms from the original design have been retired from inventory. Refurbishment works now is focused on completing the Sands Collection in Tower 3 by the second quarter of 2025. Once complete, there will be 1,850 rooms, including 775 suites, up from the original 180.

Dusit Hotels and Resorts has entered into a strategic hotel management agreement with Shravanthi Hotels and Resorts Private Limited to operate Devarana Sakleshpur in Karnataka – A Dusit Retreat in India. The landmark project is set to open in March 2028 and marks the first Devarana – Dusit Retreat signed outside of China. The property will feature 75 luxurious villas and suites, ranging from 47 to 90 square meters, with 25 units also offering private plunge pools. There will be exclusive wellness facilities, including a dedicated Devarana Wellness Center with a movement studio, gym and herbal steam room. Additional facilities include an expansive infinity pool, a specialty restaurant serving authentic South Indian cuisine and an all-day dining venue. The property will be located in Western Ghats, a four-hour drive from Karnataka’s capital of Bangalore.

Radisson Hotel Group announced the opening of Namah Nainital, a member of Radisson Individual Retreats. This is the group’s fourth operational hotel in Uttarakhand in India, where the portfolio includes hotels and resorts under multiple brands like Radisson Blu and Radisson Individuals. The hotel is nestled in the heart of Nainital Valley and includes superior rooms, premium rooms and suites offering panoramic views of the mountains, lakes and valley. Amenities include a gym and spa offering a unique mix of Asian and Western treatments, a Kids Zone, a banquet hall and an expansive lawn. The dining options include an all-day restaurant called PanoramaViceroy Bar and Gardenia.

Ramsgate Hotel in Henley Beach SAAustralia, is deep into renovations even as the owners are not divulging much in the way of details. The interior is partially gutted while leaving the historic bar, allowing customers to still order from there while the construction continues. The previous renovation, back in 2021, covered the 17 rooms upstairs, adding amenities like shared bathrooms, kitchens, and lounges. The current renovations are scheduled to be unveiled around mid-November.

Construction is due to start on the Peterborough St project, an 11-story hotel, which will be one of the tallest new buildings in central Christchurch since the earthquakes. The development is owned by Possum Ridge Ltd, a new property development company registered in August, co-owned by Doug Walker of Christchurch and Kenneth McGrath of Auckland. Possum Ridge bought the land two months ago and took over the project from GCO Group, headed by Andrew Bendemski, which first launched the development. The 4.5-star new hotel will have 148 rooms, with a lobby, bar and restaurant on the ground floor. They are in discussions with a preferred hotel chain about who will run it.

Heavens Portfolio announced its latest expansion into the Australia and New Zealand market, with the launch of a new office in Melbourne, its 18th location globally. Heavens Portfolio is a luxury travel representation firm. Chrissie Lincoln leads the Leading Heavens Portfolio Australia and will manage the team after she steps down from her role at Swire Hotels at the end of this year. She will continue to represent the group in her new role with Heavens Portfolio.
