Dusit Adds Properties in Philippines and Malaysia

Italpinas Development Corp is partnering with Dusit Hotels to open Dusit-branded hotels in Mindanao by 2029, while Dusit also announces the soft opening of its first Malaysian hotel in Melaka on December 7.

Italpinas Development Corp said they will soon have Dusit-branded hotels at its Mindanao, Philippines development. IDC Prime signed agreements with Dusit Thani Public Co. Ltd. and Dusit Thani Philippines Inc. for Dusit to operate hotels in Bukidnon province and Cagayan de Oro City. Both green projects are set to be completed by the final quarter of 2029. The 1.5-hectare Moena project in Manolo Fortich is IDC's mixed-use development that will feature an eight-story building that will have residential and hotel areas, as well as luxury villas. The Firenze tower in downtown Cagayan de Oro will have commercial, residential and hotel areas. Both are pre-existing joint ventures between IDC and the Go family. The addition of a hotel component to each project, in the agreement with Dusit, is expected to add a new dimension to each site. The hotels will be called Dusit Princess Firenze and Dusit Princess Moena.

Dusit Hotels and Resorts announced the soft opening of its first hotel in MalaysiaDusit Princess Melaka will be on December 7th. The hotel is strategically located in the heart of Melaka, a UNESCO World Heritage City. Dusit Princess Melaka occupies the former Ramada Plaza Melaka building, which has undergone a refurbishment and complete rebranding to reflect the upper-midscale Dusit Princess brand.

Minor Hotels announced the NH Collection Samui Peace Resort officially opened its doors following a renovation as of December 1, 2024. This marks the debut of the NH Collection brand in Thailand and is part of Minor Hotels' strategy to expand the NH brand in Asia, following the earlier launch of NH Bangkok Sukhumvit Boulevard in October 2024 and NH Boat Lagoon Phuket Resort in November 2022. The company is planning further regional openings, including properties in ChinaSri Lanka and the Maldives.

Radisson Hotel Group announced a new dual signing in Phuket, Thailand that will introduce Radisson and Radisson Blu branded resorts to Layan Beach. The launch of Radisson Resort Layan Phuket and Radisson Blu Resort, Layan Phuket will introduce a total of 812 rooms and suites under two brands.

Radisson also announced the opening of Crystals Beach Resort Belle Mare, a member of Radisson Individuals. The resort is nestled along the east coast of Mauritius, an hour from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.

Accor said the Novotel Agra Fatehabad Road will open in 2029, the brand's first presence in Agra, India. The hotel is being developed by Crystal Vista Ventures LLP, led by Laxman Das Goyal and his family, owners of the Grand Mercure Agra and Crystal Inn Agra.

Kangwon Land in South Korea is planning to invest US$128 million to construct a second casino business site, part of its US$1.78 billion new development plan. The location is set as the B1, B2, 'ground floors, etc' of High1 Grand Hotel Main Tower.

Choice Hotels Asia-Pac has appointed Katy Frosdick as Senior Manager, Development for Australia and New Zealand. She will set within the Development team. Frosdick comes to Choice Hotels Asia-Pac from Urban Rest where she was Head of Portfolio Growth.
