Mandarin Oriental Refreshes Hotels in Hong Kong and Bangkok

The global hotel industry continues to expand, with IHG celebrating its 50th year in China while Mandarin Oriental plans a $100 million renovation in Hong Kong.
Macau welcomed a total of 520,065 visitor arrivals during the four-day Easter holiday period. The first three days had an average of just above 140,000 daily arrivals, but that slowed to end the four-day period with an average of around 130,000 arrivals. There were only 99,966 on Monday. As for the comparison to last year, the four-day holiday period in 2024 brought about 406,329 visitor arrivals to Macau.
Political analyst Stithorn Thananithichot, of King Prajadhipok’s Institute in Thailand, is predicting the ruling government’s Casino Entertainment Complexes bill will not pass parliament. As we told you previously, at the last second, the government pulled the reading and debate on the bill until the next session, blaming more pressing issues like the recent earthquake and the tariff situation. There has been growing opposition to this bill, which was made worse when the secretary-general of the coalition Bhumjaithai Party publicly opposed it in parliament. T
