According to CoStar's global hotel pipeline report, the Asia Pacific region stands out as the one with the most robust growth in the hotel development pipeline. They reported a total number of rooms under contract in the region, reaching 957,254, up 4.2% year-over-year. The growth was driven by a 21% rise in the planning phase of hotel projects. That being said, the final planning phase saw a steep -54.3% drop, underscoring a shift in focus towards earlier stages of development. China was the leader in construction activity, accounting for the largest share of the region's hotel pipeline. CoStar said China has 318,327 hotel rooms under construction. Way behind in second and third were India and Vietnam with 40,950 and 36,338 rooms under contract, respectively.

Singapore's Changi Airport registered a 15.8% year-on-year increase in arrivals from China in the June 2025 quarter. China is currently the top visitor source market when it comes to arrivals by air.
