Thailand Evaluates Disneyland Development

Thailand's deputy PM said a proposed "Disneyland Thailand" project in the Eastern Economic Corridor is feasible and under study as a PPP.
JTB Corporation is projecting a 2.8% decline in foreign arrivals to Japan for 2026, totaling 41.4 million. JTB Institute forecasts a marginal decrease in international arrivals to 41.4 million but an increase in total tourism revenue. That is due to the shift in travel patterns among visitors from Europe and North America, extending the duration of stay and increasing expenditure.
Iloilo City in the Philippines has received a P17.6 million grant from the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority to bolster its MICE sector. The city has also secured a P150 million commitment for the redevelopment of its historic heritage plazas. The MICE grant will be distributed over five years and is intended to enhance the city’s capacity to host large-scale local and international events. Iloilo City’s Mayor said the Iloilo Convention Center hosted over 150 events last year, and reports are that the waitlist extends to one year.
