Ennismore signed a deal with Thailand’s Platinum Group to introduce the Mama Shelter brand to Bangkok around 2029. Plus, more hotel development news.
STR reported China hotel data for the week ended July 19th. Hotel RevPAR in China was down 6.9% year-over-year, up against what should have been an easy comp of an 8.4% decline in the year-ago week. For the July 19, 2025 week, ADR was down 2.3% while occupancy fell by 4.6%.
Ennismore’s Mama Shelter brand signed an agreement with Thailand’s Platinum Group to introduce the Mama Shelter brand to Bangkok. The Mama Shelter Bangkok Platinum is scheduled to open in 2029 as part of the mixed-use development The Platinum Square, which is currently under construction. This will be the first Mama Shelter hotel in Thailand and Southeast Asia. The hotel will occupy part of a 48-story complex in Bangkok’s Pratunam district that will also include a shopping center, dining venues, and retail outlets.
