Wells Fargo Ups Price Targets on Lodging Stocks
Stock market performance: DJIA was up 86 points, Nasdaq up 158 points, and S&P 500 rose 33 points, while lodging stocks mostly declined. Wells Fargo raised target prices on lodging stocks, including RHP, APLE, HST , and DHR , maintaining their ratings. Various hotels underwent renovations, including Courtyard Louisville Airport and Chancellor’s House Hotel , while new hotels were announced, such as the Hampton Inn & Suites in Pittsburgh and Riversuites in Philadelphia. -

Radisson Signs Deal to Expand in the Philippines
Radisson Hotel Group announced the latest phase of their expansion strategy in the Philippines with the signing of a deal with SM Hotels & Conventions Corp. Las Vegas Sands’ Marina Bay Sands in Singapore has completed the renovations on over 850 hotels rooms. Millennium Hotels announced the launch of M Social in Suzhou , the maiden property for the brand in China. -

Summer Tourism Spending in U.S. Spikes YoY
The DJIA plunged 630 points on Friday while Nasdaq was down 421, the S&P 500fell 105 points and the 10 year treasury yield jumped .06 to 3.88%. Lodging stocks were lower. Data recently released by the National Travel and Tourism Office showed in August, international visitors spent more than $13.7 billion on travel to, and tourism-related activities within, the U.S. Jefferies lowered their price target on Hersha Hospitality to $12 from $13 and Sunstone Hotel Investors to $11 from $12. -

RevPAR Tracker Sees No Recession-Driven Pullbacks
The DJIA was up 436 points, Nasdaq was up 247, the S&P 500 was up 72 points and the 10-year treasury yield was down .08 to 3.27%. Truist Securities published their RevPAR tracker, saying based on their analysis, they have yet to observe any “recession-driven” pullbacks and see the greatest degree of booking and pricing momentum coming from the corporate group segment. Hotels in the top 25 markets across the U.S. were the hardest hit by the pandemic-induced demand downturn but have come back with a vengeance. -

Amen Receives $900m Investment to Expand
Sterling Holiday Resorts , a subsidiary of Thomas Cook , said they will double its pan-India inventory to 5,000 rooms in the next three years. Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and Cain International have invested $900 million in Aman Group to help accelerate the global expansion of the company. The City of Dreams Manila integrated resort welcomed Singapore’s famous restaurant brand TungLok Signatures to Manila, Philippines.
