NewcrestImage Plans to Acquire 100+ Hotels This Year

NewcrestImage has plans to acquire more than 100 hotels this year , reported CoStar. So far in 2023, the company has finalized its purchase of a 45-hotel portfolio in 11 states. Key International and Shaner Hotels announced the grand opening of the 156-suite SpringHill Suites by Marriott Jacksonville Beach Oceanfront in Florida . Midas Hospitality announced the opening of the 170-room Residence Inn by Marriott , the first hotel to be built in Clayton, Missouri, in 30 years.

Club Med said it was beginning a new chapter. They maintained their Neutral rating. Jon Bortz , chairman of Pebblebrook Hotel Trust has been on a bit of an insider buying spree the past few weeks. Optimism About 2023 Deal Volume

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Inc . upped their quarterly dividend by 9%, announcing a quarterly cash dividend of $0.35 per share up from the $0.32 a share quarterly dividend they paid during 2022. CoStar said that most Lodging Industry Investment Council members expect full-year lodging real estate transactions in 2023 to exceed the volume in 2022. A joint venture of NewcrestImage and Hospitality Capital Partners completed the acquisition of 11 hotels in seven states with a total of 1,551 rooms.

Philippines Hotels Topped Pre-Pandemic Occupancy Rates in January

The Philippines Hotel Sales and Marketing Association said hotels in the country remain optimistic of the industry’s performance this year as the average occupancy has already surpassed pre-pandemic levels. Marriott International is planning 14 new luxury properties opening in the Asia Pacific region this year. IHG Hotels & Resorts announced the signing of voco Bangkok Surawong with Tawanna Property Company Limited, a real estate investor and developer in Thailand .

Price of U.S. Hotels Shows Strength in Most Regions

The DJIA rose 208 points while Nasdaq was down 203, the S&P 500 fell 46 points and the 10-year treasury yield was down .02 to 3.65%. STR reported US lodging RevPAR for the week ended February 4. RevPAR was up 26.6% year over year. When compared with the same week in 2019, RevPAR was up 6.1%.
