The DJIA jumped 551 points today while Nasdaq was up 354, the S&P 500 was up 95 points and the 10-year treasury yield was up .01 at 4.02%. The Baird/STR Hotel Stock Index fell -9.1% in September. Despite continued strong RevPAR, both year over year and 2019 comps, the stock index has dropped -20.6% in the first 9 months of the year. Allegiant Air Delays Opening of Florida Resort

The parent of Allegiant Air said that damage from Hurricane Ian has caused the company to delay the planned opening of a resort north of Fort Myers, FL at Charlotte Harbor. Trip.com Says China Summer Bookings 20% Higher Than 2019
STR reported China hotel RevPAR the week ended September 17 fell -11.5% year over year. When compared with the same week in 2019, China hotel RevPAR was down -40.1% Despite STR reporting week after week for the past several months that China hotel RevPAR has plunged again, Trip.com said hotel reservations in China surpassed pre-pandemic levels since late June . Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the opening of Hyatt Place Bharuch . This is the second Hyatt Place hotel in Gujarat and the sixth Hyatt Place hotel in in India. -

The takeaways included that they saw leisure demand start to slow in May while group and corporate recovery is now benefiting from urban and convention hotels. JP Morgan reported on meetings held with Wyndham Hotels’ CEO and SVP, IR. JPM said the meetings were generally upbeat, reflective of strong demand and pricing trends as well as steady new development and conversion signings. -

Choice Hotels International, Inc. has completed the acquisition of the franchise business, operations and intellectual property of Radisson Hotels Americas. Selina filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission a registration statement on Form F-4, in connection with its previously announced proposed business combination with BOA Acquisition Corp. The Gulf Coast’s first beachfront Hyatt Place hotel is now open in Panama City Beach.
