Hilton Expands Its Curio Collection in Asia Pacific

China's hotel Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) increased by 46.5% for the week ending November 25, 2023, compared to a 2.2% increase year-over-year but was down 2.8% compared to 2019. Curio Collection by Hilton is set to reach its 150th opening by the end of 2023, with 19 new properties, including 10 first-in-market hotels, such as in Kenya, Vietnam, Monaco, Australia, Argentina, and Curacao. Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport opened on December 1, being the largest in Thailand with 468 rooms and multiple dining options.

Radisson's Luxury Brands Expand in Southeast Asia and the Pacific

Sentosa Island in Singapore is on track to recover its pre-pandemic visitor numbers within one to two years, with new projects like Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa and Sentosa Sensoryscape expected to boost visitation. Macau SAR experienced a -28.6% decline in visitor arrivals in September, but it anticipates a potential increase in October, aiming to reach 24 million visitors by the end of the year. Accor has become the world's largest player in extended-stay hotels outside of the United States, offering various brands such as Novotel Living and Adagio, with plans to open new properties in different locations.

Accor Is Full Speed Ahead on China

Singapore's August visitation decreased by -7.8% compared to July, with 1.31 million visitors. Total eight-month arrivals remain nearly -30% lower than 2019. Accor SA aims to sign approximately 125 hotel partnership projects in China this year, with plans to introduce the Orient Express brand. Hilton plans to expand its Hilton Garden Inn brand throughout the Asia Pacific region, with a new regional room prototype introduced in Australia and New Zealand.
