Walt Disney World’s Star Wars hotel has seen demand cool so dramatically that the Florida theme park giant has been forced to reduce dates during the busy Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. Membership Collective Group reported strong 4Q results, a profitable quarter, today STR reported U.S. lodging data for the week ended March 4. Hotel RevPAR was up 12.1% year over year for the week.

RevPAR was up 26.6% year over year. When compared with the same week in 2019, RevPAR was up 6.1%. STR reported China hotel RevPAR for the week ended 8/20 was up 89.7% year over year, up against an easy -43.4%. Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism said that while tourism is recovering, almost 50% of businesses in Cambodia’s main tourism hub of Siem Reap are still closed . In India, mid-sized hotel brands have embarked on aggressive plans and are signing up hotels at a record pace, encouraged by a major turnaround in performance across the country.

Membership Collective Group shares took it on the chin today, announcing 2Q results on a day when investors were not in the mood for anything. Host Hotels’ price target was raised to $20 by Citigroup . Baird issued a bullish report on Apple Hospitality REIT but removed the Bullish Fresh Pick designation as shares have increased 18% since their positive call in late June.

China has locked down part of Tibet’s capital following reports of a Covid-19 outbreak that grew from four to 22 cases on Monday. Radisson Hotel Group announced the signing of Radisson Biratnagar in Nepal, in partnership with The Centurion Hotel Private Limited. Ennismore announced its continued expansion across New Zealand and Australia with the signing of four new hotels in New Zealand with CP Group.
