The Baird/STR Hotel Stock Index rose 9.3% in November, with the Hotel REIT sub-index up 7.6% year-to-date and the Hotel Brand sub-index up 30.6% year-over-year. BCD Travel forecasts a global decrease in airfares and a 6.8% increase in hotel rates in 2024.

The earnings calendar accelerated in both the REIT and C-Corp section in the past 24 hours. Hyatt received the most attention with a clean beat but then some concerns creeping in. Host Hotels had a lousy two days to issue a great report with a clean and positive beat and raise. Summit Hotels came in just under consensus even with a strong top-line performance as higher hotel-level expenses hurt results.

Accor announced its list of highly anticipated properties that will open in 2023 . Looking at  India's  hotel sector , JLL  said contracts in  mid-market and budget brands  grew 74% between January and September 2022 as compared to the same period in 2019. Marriott International’s St. Regis Hotels and Resorts brand announced the opening of the St. Regis Goa Resort. Bengaluru-based real estate developer MS Ramaiah Developers and Builders  plans to invest about Rs 1,100 crore over two years across real estate sectors in Karnataka, Goa, and Andhra Pradesh .
