Radisson to Open 5 Hotels in Bangkok

Radisson Hotel Group announced the 133-room Radisson Hotel Ploenchit Bangkok will open in the second quarter of 2024. RHG signed the former Chateau de Bangkok and will rebrand the upscale hotel on Soi Ruamrudee, situated just 400 meters from the US Embassy. RHG plans to double its footprint in Thailand from five hotels in 2022 to ten by mid-2024. The Bangkok property will undergo significant renovations to transform it into a Radisson property. Rooms and suites will range from 30 to 93 square meters. The hotel will serve the extended stay segment with serviced apartments. There will be an all-day dining restaurant, a café, fitness center and outdoor pool as well as event spaces.
The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua, Bali will open this July following a year of renovations to its rooms, restaurants and other facilities. Last summer saw enhancements made to the resort’s 287 rooms, villas and suites, and the addition of de Bale Lounge & Bar and Banyubiru Restaurant, followed by the opening of a new beachfront Kulkul Beach House in April. The final piece of the makeover will be added in July with the opening of Arwana Restaurant. This is the first renovation of the property in over 30 years and when complete, will total five F&B destinations within the resort. The Laguna gets its name from its seven swimmable lagoons.
Legoland Shenzhen Resort, located in Dapeng New District, Shenzhen City, south China’s Guangdong Province, is expected to open in 2024. The resort will be the largest Legoland Resort in the world and the first intellectual property-based family theme park and resort in Shenzhen. The 584,000 square meter resort will include the Legoland Theme Park, Legoland Water Park, and three themed hotels. The resort will also have the world’s largest Legoland theater.
IHG Hotels & Resorts announced the opening of Holiday Inn Katra Vaishno Devi in Jammu & Kashmir, a region administered by India. The hotel is located in the foothills of the eminent spiritual site of Vaishno Devi and features 98 rooms and suites with views of the tropical mountainous foliage, a 60-minute drive to Jammu Airport. The hotel is equipped with an all-day dining restaurant, a gym and pays attention to family bonding with an offer for children under 12 to share a room with their parents, free accommodations and meals.
Roostels India is planning to open 15 franchise-based themed hotels in prominent holiday locations in India with revenue expectations of Rs 100 crore. The first resort under the brand is Roadies Rostel Leisure Arc and will be opening in Ahmedabad. The holiday destinations include Bengaluru, Shimla, Manali, Kasauli and Goa. The first resort will have 17 Roadies-themed rooms. They teamed up with the consumer products arm of Viacom18 for the launch of the first experiential modern space in Ahmedabad.
Treehouse Hotels & Resorts, a brand owned by Karma Hospitality LLP, has announced the expansion of its portfolio by launching what it calls a unique concept of Caravan Parks in India. It combines the allure of camping with the comfort and luxury of a world-class resort. Treehouse Hotel opened its first Caravan Park in Neemrana, located on the Delhi Jaipur highway. Spread over 10 acres, Treehouse Sunrise Resort & Caravan Park is attached to the existing Resort of Treehouse Hotels in Neemrana so the Caravan Park shares all the facilities of the resort including the swimming pool, tennis court, track, camping, star gazing and a host of outdoor and indoor activities. Treehouse Hotels & Resorts is aiming to introduce at least 20 such parks in the coming 5 years.
Royal Orchid & Regenta Hotels said it expanded internationally with the launch of Regenta Arie Lagoon in Negombo, Sri Lanka. The new property is situated in Thalahena, a 30-minute drive from the airport and capital of Colombo. The resort features deluxe rooms, family deluxe rooms, premier deluxe rooms with private plunge pools and premier suites, with views of the lagoon or the Indian Ocean. The Arie Spa features a lot of different amenities including a heated room and dry sauna. The property offers the Banana Prawn restaurant, Lalapuwa Lounge and Negombo Seafood Restaurant and the Bar-A-Cuda Bar. There is both indoor and outdoor venues for business guests and special events. Royal Orchid & Regenta Hotels said they are planning on further foreign launches, particularly those in locations that are tourism landscape.
Four key projects in Vietnam, north of the Van Phong Economic Zone, have just been approved by the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province for implementation. They include Dam Mon high-class multi-purpose urban area; Co-Ma – Tu Bong multi-purpose urban area; a high-class resort and entertainment area with Hon Lon golf course; a complex of services, and a high-class tourism and entertainment complex on Khai Luong Mountain.
Swiss-Belhotel International announced the takeover of the operational management of Kedaton 8 Xpress Hotel located at the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road Rest Area KM 19 from PT Puri Sentul Permai Tbk. The hotel was rebranded as Swiss-Belexpress Rest Area Km/19 on June 5. The hotel is located only 30 minutes from Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia. The hotel offers guest rooms with a choice of one, two or three beds, two meeting rooms and more. PT Puri Sentul Tbk said their partnership with Swiss-Belhotel International is expected to produce 20 Swiss-Belexpress hotels in several Type-A rest areas across Java, Bali, and Sumatra toll roads.
LET Group, formerly Suncity Group, said its Suntrust Resort Holdings in the Philippines received a P25 billion (US$446.4 million) loan from China Banking Corp so they can fund the casino development project at Travellers Group’s Entertainment City in Paranaque. Summit Ascent Holdings, another LET Group subsidiary, will provide financial assistance to Suntrust via security and project support. In other words, Summit Ascent’s SA Investments will be a guarantor.
JLL, acting as the exclusive advisor to the seller, Strategic Hospitality Holdings, has closed the sale of a portfolio of hospitality properties a deal worth US$106.1 million. The sale comprises three hotel properties in Southeast Asia – Pullman Jakarta Central Park, the ibis Saigon South and the Capri by Fraser, both in Ho Chi Minh City. The Pullman Jakarta Central Park and ibis Saigon South were sold with the benefit of Accor management under the Pullman and ibis brands, respectively. The Capri by Fraser was sold with vacant possession.
