Aman to Launch Janu Brand in Tokyo

In March of 2024, Aman Group will launch a new brand, Janu, with 122 rooms in Tokyo’s Azabudai Hills development. The flagship property will offer an array of high end amenities, such as eight restaurants, two boutiques and one of the largest wellness centers in Tokyo. Most of Janu Tokyo’s accommodations will feature private balconies, bathrooms with double vanities and soaking tubs, walk-in closets, living rooms and panoramic city views. The hotel’s signature Janu suite will have 3,000 square feet of residential-inspired spaces, including a kitchen with a dining table for six, a spacious living room, separate library/office and two balconies. The wellness center will be a 43,000 square foot space with four movement and group class studios, a boxing ring and a gym. Spa facilities include a hammam, cold and hot plunge pools, hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber, 9 treatment rooms and two more pools for swimming and lounging. The property will have eight restaurants.

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts assumed management of three New Zealand resorts, adding Rosewood Kauri Cliffs, Rosewood Cape Kidnappers and Rosewood Matakauri to its collection. Formerly known as Robertson Lodges, they now form an integral part of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ expanding portfolio. The Robertson family was on hand to hand over the management of their lodges to Rosewood.

Brookfield Asset Management’s, The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, announced the signing of a management agreement for a 140 room hotel in Ranka in Sikkim, marking the launch of the brand in Northeast India. The Leela Sikkim is owned by the SIBIN Group and is located approximately 10 kilometers from the capital city on a 17 acre plot overlooking the Gangtok Hill. The Leela Sikkim is slated to open in December 2026. The resort will feature 35 independent luxury villas, including 20 wellness villas, 13 twin villas and a 6 room double story villa, along with 88 luxury rooms in a hotel block. A range of dining options will include an all-day dining restaurant, specialty restaurant, a wellness restaurant and a lounge bar. Guests will be able to enjoy a wellness center and a casino along with a host of other indoor and outdoor activities.

Ramee Group of Hotels announced its entry into Tamil Nadu through the sign up of a management contract property in Coimbatore in India. The move marks the commencement of expansion plans in the state of Tamil Nadu. The hotel comprises 45 well appointed rooms, a 24/7 dining haven, a spa and a state of the art event space.

Kamat Hotels India Ltd unveiled The Orchid Jamnagar along the Khampalia Highway in Jamnagar, Gujarat in India. The grand opening was held on December 1. The Orchid Jamnagar has 45 well-appointed rooms, including Deluxe Rooms, Premium Rooms, spacious suites and an accessible room for those with physical challenges. The hotel includes an in-house restaurant, pillar-less banquet hall, and lawn spanning 1,500 square feet and 23,000 square feet respectively.

Dong A Hotel Group Joint Stock Company and Fusion Hotel Group have officially signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement on hotel management for the Nui Coc Lake Retreat Resort & Spa Project as a five-star international standards resort. Dong A Hotel Group Joint Stock Company is the developer of the Ho Nui Coc Retreat Resort & Spa in Thai Nguyen City in Vietnam. The resort complex stretches nearly one kilometer along the edge of Nui Coc Lake, a miniature eco-village with a green area of more than 24 hectares. Fusion will take over hotel management, adding to their portfolio of operating over 20 resorts and hotels in Vietnam and Thailand.

Philippines property developer Megaworld said it is building a new township in Puerto Princesa, Palawan with Suntrust Properties. Megaworld said Baytown Palawan will be along the Puerto Princesa South Road and it will have residential condominiums, hotels and retail spaces. Megaworld said it will develop an upscale and exclusive residential community in Baytown while Suntrust will build the residential condominiums. It will be Megaworld’s second township in Palawan and its 31st in the Philippines.

Townplace West Kowloon, the flagship project of Townplace, a premium residential leasing brand under Sun Hung Kai Properties in Hong Kong, has announced the official launch of its 53,000 square foot, four story plus rooftop TP Social Club. Townplace West Kowloon has pioneered the Aparthotel model featuring a mix of short and long term hotel rentals, catering to the flexible needs of premium young talents. The project integrates TP Social Club with the novel development concept of Townplace community to create a living space equipped with a wide assortment of amenities. TP Social Club covers four levels of indoor and outdoor space, a rooftop and a waterfront promenade pier, as well as seven zones equipped with a full range of amenities and professional equipment. That includes the Skybound Pool on the 26th floor equipped with a jacuzzi and a cold water bath.

SAii Resorts, the lifestyle brand from S Hotels and Resorts PCL, will introduce its experience-seeking guests to a new era of authentic southern Thai hospitality following an extensive project to reimagine three of its upper upscale resorts in Thailand: SAii Phi Phi Island Village, SAii Laguna Phuket, and SAii Koh Samui Choengmon. SAii Phi Phi Island Village is being reimagined to reflect a deep commitment to marine conservation. SAii Laguna Phuket is redefining the traditional lagoon house concept, integrating it with modern tranquility. The resort is set to launch SAii Spa. SAii Resorts is also introducing InSAiider Guides at the resorts and will redefine the culinary journey with three food & beverage programs. The SAiiSational Breakfast, Global Authentic Gastronomy and Savor Real Thai concepts will focus on local dishes and position SAii Resorts as the ultimate destination for foodies. The renovation project has already commenced and will run until 2025 with major work being undertaken during the low season to not impact upon the tranquil ambience.
