Kimpton Adds Resorts, Goldman Sachs Buys Resorts
Kimpton’s first-ever resort in the Western Caribbean is officially opening this summer, with the debut of the new Kimpton Grand Roatan in the Bay Islands of Honduras . According to The Wall Street Journal, Goldman Sachs is investing between 150 million and 200 million euros in three seaside resorts in the northern region of Halkidiki . Key International completed the purchase of The Perry Hotel on the waterfront in Key West, FL as part of an ambitious expansion of its $2 billion portfolio. -

Wells Fargo Cuts Lodging Stock Targets While Global RevPAR Grows
Wells Fargo has cut price targets on lodging stocks under coverage due to concerns over regional banks and their impact on the hotel industry. The bank only downgraded two names – Park Hotels and Xenia Hotels – but reduced price targets on many others, including Hilton, Marriott, and Hyatt. STR’s global “bubble chart” update shows growing momentum in the Asia Pacific region and more than half of markets globally with better than 20% growth in RevPAR versus 2019. Israel, Switzerland, Singapore, the Dominican Republic, and New Zealand led in RevPAR on an actual basis. HEI Hotels & Resorts has taken over management of the Marriott Jacksonville Downtown Hotel in Jacksonville, Florida, which will undergo a comprehensive renovation in the planning stages with completion anticipated in the first quarter of 2024. -

In a day that was everything that was expected, the financial indexes and individual stocks were whipsawed. B.Riley lowered their price target on Ashford Hospitality Trust to $6.50 from $9. They maintained their Neutral rating. Jon Bortz , chairman of Pebblebrook Hotel Trust has been on a bit of an insider buying spree the past few weeks. He has purchased a total of 64,000 shares between 2/28 and 3/9 at prices ranging from $14.30 to $14.67. -

International Arrivals to U.S. in November Increased 61% YoY
Wells Fargo changed price targets on a bunch of hotel names in their coverage. In November 2022, total non-US resident international visitor volume to the United States increased 61.3% compared to November 2021 According to the Q4 2022 Hotel Construction Pipeline Trend Report for Canada by Lodging Econometrics, Canada’s total construction pipeline stands at 267 projects/35,758 rooms. -

U.S. Fed Slows Tightening, Hotel Investors Set to Act
Citigroup upped their target price on Park Hotels & Resorts to $15 from $13 while maintaining their Neutral rating. They also upped their target price on Pebblebrook Hotel Trust to $16.50 from $15. They also maintained their Neutral rating on PEB. Accor’s private rental brand, onefinestay , has launched monthly stays in New York with 16 homes available to book and many more being added over the coming months. -

STR’s global “bubble chart” update through November 19, 2022 showed the strongest performance of the year thus far. The U.S. Travel Association’s latest biannual travel forecast shows a downgrade in international inbound travel for the remainder of this year and for 2023. -

Selina Surges on First Day of Trading
Lodging stocks had a good day, with Selina’s first day of trading leading the way, surging to a close of $40.90. Hersha Hospitality , Accor and Travel + Leisure reported results with TNL getting the worst reviews . Selina and BOA announced the closing of their business combination which was approved by BOA stockholders on October 21, 2022.
