Indian Hotels Company Signed 32 New Hotels in 2023

In 2023, the Taj brand strengthened its presence in key metro and commercial cities, including Delhi, Cochin, Dhaka, and Bhutan. Vivanta and SeleQtions collectively added 17 hotels while Ginger signed agreements for six new hotels.
The Macau Land and Works Bureau said Macau saw seven new hotels open in 2023, providing a total of 1,792 rooms and 1,096 parking spaces. There were also seven hotels under construction as of 4Q23, expected to provide another 3,105 hotel rooms in the future across 142,325 square meters of space. Two of those hotels are located on Cotai and are expected to provide a combined 2,808 rooms while the other five are located on the Macau Peninsula and will provide a total of 297 rooms. Macau’s five-star hotel sector had an average occupancy rate of 91.2% in December, just slightly below the 93.8% in December 2019. The number of operational five-star rooms in Macaualso increased to 27,800 in November, surpassing December 2019’s count of 24,600 rooms. Average room rate in December was MOP1,773.
