Singapore's GIC Acquires Stakes in SAMHI Hotels Units

Singapore's GIC is investing $88 million for 35% stakes in three SAMHI Hotels units to develop upscale hotels across India.
STR reported China hotel data for the week ended April 19th. China hotel RevPAR fell 7.3% year-over-year during the week. It was up against a decline of 3.7% in the same week in 2024. For the 2025 week, ADR was down 5.2% year-over-year, while occupancy was down 2.3%.
Macau five-star hotel room prices fell by almost 13% in March. Since July 2024, the five-star average rate in Macau has declined each month, with March marking nine consecutive months of declines. The Macao Government Tourism Office said the five-star average daily rate in March was MOP 1,446.50, down 12.7% from the same month in 2024. It was also down 8.6% from February 2025. In March, the average room rate of three, four, and five-star hotels declined by 9.7% to MOP 1,287.10. The occupancy rate for five-star hotels in March was a healthy 94.7%, up by 4.8 percentage points over March 2024.
