Mexico Is Poised for a Boom in All-Inclusive Resorts

The DJIA surged another 464 points while the Nasdaq was up 31, the S&P 500rose 21 points, and the 10-year treasury yield was down .05 to 4.24%. Lodging stocks were higher, led by REITs again. PK, PEB, and INN led the group, all three up 5% on the day.

STR reported U.S. hotel data for the week ended 8/9. Weekly hotel RevPAR was down -1.6%, year over year, with occupancy down 1% and ADR down 60 basis points. Group RevPAR was down 5.2% on a decline in occupancy of 7.8%.

Lodging Econometrics released its second quarter 2025 Hotel Construction Pipeline Trend Report for Europe. According to LE analysts, the region’s total pipeline stands at 1,690 projects/248,972 rooms at the close of the second quarter.
