The Macao Government Tourism Office said it now expects the number of visitor arrivals to total 39 million by the end of this year, making a run at the 2019 record of 39.4 million visitors. International visitor numbers are expected to recover to about 80% of 2019 levels, not that they were very high back then. Macau has been focusing on boosting international visitation. It plans to establish tourism and trade representative offices in Southeast and Northeast Asia next year to serve as key development points for expanding Macau’s international reach.
