STR reported China hotel data for the week ended 12/13. China hotel RevPAR was down 0.7% year-over-year, up against what should have been an easy comp of a decline of 3.2% in the year-ago week. ADR was up 3.4% year-over-year for the week ended 12/13, but occupancy fell 4%.

CoStar/STR reported the Ashes Tour boosted hotel performance in Perth and Brisbane, while forward booking levels are peaking above 95% in Adelaide. Perth hosted the Ashes on the first Test of the tour between November 21-25, with hotel performance peaking on the second night with occupancy at 96%, ADR at A$409.36, and RevPAR at A$393.03. ADR and RevPAR were up 46.9% and 50.3%, respectively. The second Test was in Brisbane between December 4-8, and occupancy peaked on the first night at 90.3%, while ADR hit A$406.16 and RevPAR at $363.85 on the third night, up 55.7% and 74.4% respectively.
