IHG Targets 400 Hotels in India Within 5 Years

IHG aims to have over 400 hotels operating or in development in India within five years, up from 51 operational and 80 in-pipeline now.
STR/CoStar reported China hotel data for the week ended January 10th. China hotel RevPAR was down 14.6% year-over-year, up against an easy comp of a decline of 0.2% in the year-ago week but also coming off a new three-day New Year’s weekend. China hotel ADR for the 2026 week was down 4%, with the big hit coming from occupancy, down 11.1% versus the same week in 2025.
CoStar reported that Sydney, Australia’s hotel industry posted a record-high monthly average daily rate, according to preliminary December results. December 2025 preliminary RevPAR was up 14.7% to A$283.68. Occupancy rose 3.2% to 81.3% while ADR surged 11.1% to A$349.06. In addition to the ADR record, RevPAR was the highest for any December in the market. On New Year’s Eve, occupancy reached 95.4%, and ADR and RevPAR rose to A$1,009.10 and A$962.95, respectively.
