Investors breathed a sigh of relief as the big plunge at the open in the financial markets turned around in the afternoon. By the close, the DJIA was only down 73 points, the Nasdaq was up 81, the S&P 500 was up 3 points, and the 10-year treasury yield was up .09 to 4.05%. Lodging stocks were still mixed to negative by the close, but the recovery in the C-Corps off the lows in the morning was a sight for sore eyes. Obviously, this is not over in terms of possible reactions from the financial markets, depending on events each day and night.
