Canada Hotel Industry Posts Second Straight Month of Performance Gains

The DJIA rose 304 points, while the Nasdaq was up 168, the S&P 500 rose 36 points, and the 10-year treasury yield was down .06 to 4.33%. Lodging stocks were modestly higher.

STR reported U.S. lodging data for the week ended 3/21. U.S. hotel RevPAR was up 4.9% with occupancy up 2.7% and ADR up 2.2%. Group RevPAR was up 80 basis points.

Wells Fargo lowered its price targets on Ryman Hospitality to $105 from $109 and on Sunstone Hotel Investors to $10 from $11, maintaining their Overweight ratings on both. They cut Apple Hospitality’s PT to $12 from $13; Park Hotels to $10 from $11; and Pebblebrook Hotel Trust to $12 from $13, maintaining Equal-Weight ratings on all three.
