Accor opened its 800th hotel in China last month with the Sofitel Changzhou Hi-Tech District in Changzhou, Jiangsu province. While this marks the opening of their 800th hotel, Accor said it expects to open 800 more in the next five to six years. Accor currently operates 17 hotel brands across China. Their luxury and premium hotels continue to expand in major Chinese cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou, but they believe China's third and fourth tier cities align very well with Accor's comprehensive brand portfolio. Their primary focus is on midscale and premium brands and they are seeing increasing potential and demand in these cities. Accor also benefits from partnerships with many local hotel chains, including Huazhu Group, JinJiang International Holdings, and Sunmei Hotels Group.
