DLR Turns 30 + Soho House Reaches Deal to Go Private

The Daily Lodging Report turned 30 years old today! Soho House reached an agreement with an investor group led by MCR and its Chairman and CEO Tyler Morse to take SHCO private at $9 a share.
It was another mixed day on Wall Street in the late hazy days of summer with the DJA down 34, the Nasdaq up 7, the S&P 500 down a point, and the 10-year treasury yield up .01 to 4.34%. Lodging stocks were modestly higher, with the only mover of note being SHCO on the MCR news, up 15% to a new 52-week high.

The Wall Street Journal first broke the news, and then Soho House & Co. confirmed it, that it reached an agreement with an investor group led by MCR and its Chairman and CEO Tyler Morse to take SHCO private at $9 a share. SHCO Executive Chairman Ron Burkle and his Yucaipa Companies will retain their interest along with existing significant shareholders. MCR’s group will purchase around 15% of the total equity, valuing the company at $1.8 billion. Apollo Global Management will provide more than $700 million in equity and debt financing. Tyler Mo
