Indian Hotels acquired a 51% stake in Brij Hospitality for RS 193 crore, gaining the Brij brand's portfolio of 22 hotels with 11 in pipeline.

Hotel transactions in India rose to about US$397 million in 2025 from $340 million the year before, according to data shared by JLL. Transactions spanned operational properties, non-operational assets, and under-construction developments. Hotel companies also actively pursued strategic investments to acquire stakes in other entities last year, enabling market expansion into previously untapped regions. JLL is forecasting transaction volume of $420 million for the calendar year 2026. The estimate includes only outright purchases and company acquisitions, excluding platform investments and transactions structured on a lease or revenue-sharing basis. JLL is expecting transaction activity in the Asia Pacific region of $11.9 billion for all of 2025. The first 9 months totaled $7.93 billion, with Japan recording the highest volume in the first 9 months. JLL is expecting $1 billion in hospitality sector investment in India by 2028.
