The General Statistics Office under Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance said the country set a new first-quarter record for international visitor arrivals in 1Q26. The arrivals rose by 12.4% year-on-year to 6.76 million. Arrivals from China led with 1.4 million, followed by South Korea, not far behind, supplying 1.33 million of the arrivals. Arrivals from the Philippines were up 69.3% off a low base, while Indonesia and Cambodia arrivals rose by 44% and 41% respectively. Cambodia was in the top five, in fourth place in arrivals with 330,000. Arrivals from Russia totaled 367,000, and that was up 195% year-on-year in 1Q26. Vietnam is targeting more than 25 million international arrivals in 2026, hoping to generate US$46 billion in tourism revenue.
