Mongolia tourism growth continues with 418,732 arrivals in the first half of 2026. This follow-through from the strong 2025 performance was driven by visa-free access, regional visitors, and rising winter tourism appeal. The first half of 2026 was up 19.8% over the same period in 2025. For all of 2025, Mongolia registered 846,103 international arrivals, a new record. Asian countries accounted for more than 70% of total arrivals. China led with 29.2% or 168,000, followed by Russia with 141,000.

The initiative provides a 5% subsidy on interest rates and forms part of a wider economic stimulus package for the tourism industry. The total budget allocated to the program amounts to US$10.2 million.
