Commonwealth Hotels Acquires 2 Houston Properties
Overall, stocks gave back most of their pre-market gains. Lodging stocks wound up mixed on the day. Commonwealth Hotels acquired the 120-suite Residence Inn Houston-West University and the 100-room Courtyard by Marriott Houston-West University. Aimbridge Hospitality announced the expansion of its portfolio with the addition of three extended stay properties recently acquired by Three Wall Capital, LLC. -

Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation announced an increase in its quarterly dividend. MCR has acquired the Staybridge Suites Chattanooga Downtown , a five-story, extended-stay hotel in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The DJIA rose 35 points Friday while Nasdaq was down 21, the S&P 500 was down 5 points and the 10-year treasury yield was down .02 to 3.51%. -

Fosun Denies Claims It’s Seeking Buyer for Club Med
Bloomberg said Fosun is also considering strategic options for French luxury resort chain Club Med SAS and could seek a value of about $1.5 billion for the business. Shanghai Disney Resort remains closed, two weeks after Covid-19 cases caused operations to cease. Marriott International announced plans to expand its select service portfolio in Greater China with the expected addition of 30 hotels in the segment by the end of 2023. -

Global Hotel Pipeline Slows in Q3
The DJIA surged 749 points on Friday while Nasdaq was up 245, the S&P 500 rose 87 points and the 10 year treasury yield was down .01 to 4.21%. Lodging stocks were modestly higher. According to September 2022 data from STR , Middle East & Africa was the only world region to show an increase in overall hotel pipeline activity at the end of the third quarter. IHG Hotels & Resorts reported a good 3Q, with RevPAR up 28% year over year and up 2.7% from 3Q19. The problem is they also announced Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson is leaving his CFO position. -
