Vietnam Sees Inbound Visitation Soar in Early 2025

STR reported China hotel data for the week ended April 12th. Chinese hotel RevPAR was down 17.7% year-over-year, up against an easy comp of a decline of 10.9% in the year-ago week. The Tomb-Sweeping Day calendar issue impacted results. For the week of April 12, 2025, ADR was down 8.7% year-over-year, while occupancy was down 9.9%.
Vietnam recorded over six million international arrivals in Q1 25, up 29.6% year over year, led by China and South Korea. In March, international visitors reached over two million, up 28.5% compared to March 2024. China led in Q1 with 1.58 million arrivals, followed by South Korea with 1.26 million, with the two markets accounting for 47% of the total international arrivals. Taiwan was a distant third with only 331,000. China was up 78.3% compared to Q1 24, while South Korea was up 2.2%.
