Loews Hotels Plans $410 Million Arlington Property

Loews Hotels will build a $410 million luxury hotel in Arlington, Texas, replacing the existing Sheraton Arlington Hotel by September 2026. Plus, more hotel development news.

The DJIA fell 216 points, Nasdaq was down 32, the S&P 500 fell 24 points and the 10-year treasury yield was up .03 to 4.17%. Lodging stocks were lower.

A seven-story, 144-room Graduate by Hilton is expected to be completed in late summer or early autumn 2027 in Downtown Champaign, Illinois. Construction is expected to begin in late spring 2026 with about 16 months of building time. The hotel will offer a restaurant, coffee shop, fitness facility, meeting and conference space and valet parking. Earlier plans called for an Aloft Hotels property but the developers, led by Doug Altenberger, eventually pivoted to Graduate by Hilton hotel, representing a shift toward a more full-service and upscale hotel.
