The World Travel & Tourism Council reported global travel and tourism reached a record US$11.6 trillion in 2025, with Asia Pacific leading the growth. Asia Pacific emerged as the fastest-growing region in global travel and tourism last year, leading a record year for the sector. Globally, travel and tourism expanded by 4.1%. Asia Pacific travel and tourism GDP rose by 8.1% to US$3.29 trillion. North America recorded below-average growth of 1%, with travel and tourism GDP reaching US3.05 trillion.
The number of foreign visitor arrivals to the Philippines grew by 2.64% in the first three months of 2026, with strong growth from most of its key source markets offsetting a decline in visitation from South Korea and mainland China.
