The Korea Culture and Tourism Institute reported the number of foreign visitors to South Korea exceeded 4.74 million in the first quarter, up by more than 22% year-on-year. Cumulative arrivals during the January-April period reached 6.77 million. Foreign tourists are also spending at record levels. In April, overseas visitors in Seoul spent more than 1.15 trillion won using payment cards, the highest figure since statistics began.
