Marriott Begins Integrating CitizenM Hotels

Marriott closed its acquisition of CitizenM in only three months and will complete the integration in about a month's time, both much faster than the industry average. Plus more hotel news.

The DJIA fell 74 points while the Nasdaq was up 131 points, the S&P 500 was flat, and the 10-year treasury yield was up .08 to 4.06%. You always have to wonder about a big move in treasury yields on a day the Fed cuts interest rates by 0.25 of a point. Lodging stocks were lower, pretty much across the board.

STR reported U.S. lodging data for the week ended 10/25. U.S. hotel RevPAR fell 5.3% with occupancy down 3.6% and rates down 1.7%. Group RevPAR was down 4.5%.
