Marriott to Bring City Express Brand to Asia Pacific

Marriott International will introduce its City Express by Marriott brand to the Asia Pacific region, with the first hotels in Japan next year. Plus more hotel deal news.
STR reported China hotel data for the week ended 11/1. China hotel RevPAR was up 5.6% year-over-year. The week was up against a comp of a decline of 3% in the comparable week in 2024. ADR for the 2025 week was up 4.6% year-over-year, while occupancy was up 0.9%.
The Macao Government Tourism Office said Macau is on track to receive between 38 and 39 million visitors in 2025. If total arrivals reach 39 million or more, Macau will have fully recovered from Covid-19, as 2019 had 39.4 million visitors. The Macau Grand Prix takes place from November 13th to 16th. Hotel occupancy rates are expected to exceed 90%, but it should be noted that a potential Typhoon is currently forecast to be near Macau on November 12-13.
