1,300-Room Hotel Set to Reopen in Times Square

ROW NYC will reopen on May 1 in New York’s Times Square with 1,300 rooms. Plus, more hotel and deal news.

The DJIA was up 308 points, while the Nasdaq was up 288, the S&P 500 was up 56, and the 10-year treasury yield was up .02 to 4.05%. Lodging stocks were modestly higher.

Chatham Lodging Trust reported fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 results today. Excluding the hotels they sold, adjusted EBITDA was up 4% year over year. They bought back 1 million shares at an average of $6.73 per share. CLDT said that for the first time since the pandemic, they generated the highest operating margins in the industry. They had held that top spot from 2010 to 2019. They sold four older hotels, using the proceeds to pay down debt and buy back stock, and still have $12 million left on their repurchase plan.

STR reported U.S. lodging data for the week ended 2/21. U.S. Hotel RevPAR was up 6.2% year over year for the week, with occupancy up 3.1% and ADR up 3%. Group RevPAR was up 2.7%.
