February brought a 9% year on year rise in visitor arrivals from abroad to Singapore. This was led by a rise of 61.3% volume growth from Mainland China. February included Lunar New Year in China with a host of countries claiming they were going to be the beneficiaries of the Chinese avoiding travel to Japan over government differences. It looks like Singapore didn't need to make a claim, they just showed the results. Of the 1.5 million February arrivals, overnight visitors to Singapore accounted for 1.11 million, up 6.2% year on year. The top five markets for city-state's inbound tourists in February were Mainland China with 432,330 and then a distant second place by Indonesia at 167,040, followed by Malaysia, Australia and South Korea far behind.
