Radisson Hotel Group and MBD Group announced a long-term strategic partnership under a master franchise agreement to aid the growth of RHG’s luxury and lifestyle brands across India. Plus other hotel news.
The unofficial final tally for the nine-day Golden Week in Macau was 1.55 million visitor arrivals, or 172,000 per day. Last year’s eight-day Golden Week had a daily average of nearly 164,000.
Singapore tourism arrivals fell by 8.1% in January to 1.5 million. The decline was led by China arrivals being down by 27.8%. The timing of the Chinese New Year may have had a lot to do with that, as last year the eight-day Golden Week started in January. However, visitation by Indonesians was down by 13%, and Australian visitors were down by just 0.4%. Malaysian visitation was up 14%.
IHG Hotels & Resorts signed a management agreement with Chentoor Hotels Pvt Ltd for the development of Holiday Inn Express & Suites Madurai.
