Macau authorities believe this upcoming Labour Day Holiday could bring the possibility of record visitor arrivals, predicting daily arrivals will reach between 210,000 and 220,000 during peak periods of the five-day holiday. May 2nd is the day they are projecting the highest traffic. Last year, the five-day holiday averaged 170,000 visitors per day. The current record for the highest number of inbound visitors in a single day was set on the third day of the Lunar New Year Golden Week on February 19th, when 227,943 visitors entered Macau. Macau officials expect total inbound and outbound border crossings in Macau will reach about 3.6 million to 3.7 million over the period, with average daily crossings of 720,000 to 740,000.
